When there is a problem gambler in the family, their problem is your problem.  The reality is everyone in the family is affected.  Everyone is affected, no matter how strong you are.  Emotional distress and financial hardship are common.  It is not your fault when a family member plays excessively and you cannot make them stop.  As hard as it is, you need to take steps to protect your financial resources, your health, and the welfare of your children.
